So, with age we all see our health declining and we want to get it back through that magical product hgh. How To Choose The Best Drinking Water Filter

Today's drinking water filters come in a variety of shapes, sizes and even colors, but what's more important is what's on the inside. Just because a drinking water filter looks good, does not necessarily mean that it is the right choice for your home.

When you are shopping for drinking water filters, your first guide is product performance data. In some states, drinking water filter companies are required to provide this information along with their sales brochures. But regulation is not nationwide, so depending on where the company is located, they may not be able or willing to disclose performance facts.

Diet Pills A Magic Pills??

There are important events in one's life that somehow urges people to check that bathroom weighing scale more often than usual. There are the traditional reunion occasions like Christmas, Anniversaries, Weddings and, don't forget, swimwear summertime. And then, there are the medical nuances like hypertension, high blood pressure, diabetes ... and the list goes on and on. Losing weight is a very common concern of many people. Can a Child Display Autistic Traits and Still Not Be Autistic?

With it featuring so heavily in the media (and rightly so) a fear that many parents hold is the possibility that their child or children may be diagnosed with autism. However, before jumping to conclusions should you observe some symptoms or traits of autism in your child, it is important to get a professional diagnosis and to look carefully into that diagnosis to make certain that there isn't something else causing the autistic behaviors to occur. There are a number of other health problems and disorders that are commonly misinterpreted and misdiagnosed as autism.


Misdiagnosis of autism can occur among the various autism spectrum disorders, or it can be connected to a completely unrelated condition. Parents should make sure to share all observations and considerations with the child's doctor so that possible alternate diagnoses the appropriate attention.

There are five conditions within the autism spectrum, and each of them can easily be mistaken for another. These are:

1. Rett's Syndrome - this is a condition found only in girls which was discovered back in 1966. It is currently believed by scientists that this is not an inherited condition, but is the result of a random genetic mutation. Symptoms of Rett's Syndrome do not become apparent in babies until 6 to 18 months of age. When Rett's Syndrome starts to become apparent, the development of the baby begins to slow and their heads no longer grow in a normal way. Normal speech does not develop and repetitive hand movements, unusual walking patterns, and torso shaking begin. Children with Rett's Syndrome also frequently experience seizures, breathing problems, rigid muscles, retarded growth, and other health issues.

2. Childhood Disintegrative Disorder - this disorder almost always occurs in boys, and is extremely rare. Until the age of about 42 months, the child appears to be normal, but a dramatic linguistic and social skill loss then occurs. The child may also start experiencing seizures and lose bladder and bowel control. Typically, these children experience low intellectual development. CDD is the easiest of the autism spectrum disorders for doctors to diagnose.

3. Autism - Autism itself is often referred to as Classic Autism, Kanner's Autism, or Early Infantile Autism. Until its recognition in the 1940's, children with autism had been diagnosed as emotionally disturbed or mentally retarded. Autistic children show many different kinds of symptoms that also occur in other physical and mental disorders, making it easy to misdiagnose. Among them are issues with sensory integration and information processing, leading to a series of different kinds of behaviors.

4. Asperger's Syndrome - Asperger's Syndrome children are frequently mistaken for children with high-functioning autism. The syndrome does not typically present itself until after three years of age, as these children tend not to show any issues with language acquisition and use. Instead, they commonly form extreme interests in narrow subjects, and are often known for frequent (though not universal) ability to recite full book texts or movie lines, as well as a seemingly endless line of trivial facts. Some autism-like traits may present themselves, such as the desire for a strict routine, a struggle with social interactions and communication, and an inclination toward repetitive behaviors. Some also struggle with vocal control.

5. Pervasive Development Disorder (Not Otherwise Specified) - PDD/NOS symptoms are difficult to classify. This portion of the autism spectrum is essentially used as a "catch-all" diagnosis for children who present symptoms of autism that cannot be contained by the other four autism spectrum disorders.

Beyond the autism spectrum disorder, other disorders and health problems that can often cause children to display autistic traits - though they don't actually have autism - are:

- Deafness or hearing loss - children who have a difficulty hearing may have impaired social responses, causing them to behave in ways similar to some autistic behaviors.

- Schizophrenia - though some symptoms of this disorder are similar to those of autism, schizophrenia normally presents much later in life than autism.

- Language delay, language disorder, or speech delay - children with linguistic disorders and delays can experience social impairments as a result of their inability to express themselves.

- Developmental delay or mental retardation - behaviors of developmentally delayed or mentally retarded children frequently mimic those of autistic children, but for completely different reasons. Before the discovery of autism as a disorder many autistic children were regarded as mentally retarded.

As there are so many different symptoms of autism and the disorder never presents the same way from person to person, it is easy to misdiagnose disorders both inside and outside the spectrum as being autism. This is especially prevalent among the various autism spectrum disorders.

How to Motivate Yourself to Exercise

Do you need to lose weight and know that you need to exercise to make it happen? We all know that exercise is good for us and that it will change our body and allow us to live a healthier lifestyle, but we choose not to do it. Yes, it is a choice for most of us!

It sounds too simple to be true, but the fact of the matter is that affirmations work. You don't need to pay anyone to motivate you; in fact you can use free positive affirmations and get results. As long as you believe in the statement that you are saying you can make it a reality. When you believe in them and use them regularly, especially at your moments of weakness, you will be able to turn your life around by making exercise as important as it should be in your life.

It's simple to drive past the gym each day and head for the coffee shop or head for home, but simple isn't always better. Exercise affirmations will remind you that your body is worth taking care of and though it may not always be your first choice of what you could be doing, it's worth it. When you use affirmations, positive reinforcement is sure to follow because the more you exercise the better you'll look and feel, and everyone loves to look and feel their best.

Whether you are trying to lose weight, tone up, or simply stay fit, exercise affirmations will work for you if you believe in them. These little statements do away with the negative thought processes that you may currently go through and will replace them with positive self-talk.

The power of positive thinking through exercise affirmations may surprise you at first, but it'll be a surprise that you are willing to repeat over and over again once you get started. Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT): What it is and What You Should Know

Kevin: I am psyched to have you on board because some of this stuff is just so ground breaking and so awesome. Carol, let's start talking EFT. Let's get into how you started into EFT. And then we'll move on to an explanation of what EFT is.

Carol: Okay. I started as a hypnotist and a regular therapist. And one of my colleagues in my hypnosis class said, 'If you think hypnosis is good, you've got to try EFT. I didn't know what it was. And I read the advertisement and it sounded, frankly, too good to be true. It really did sound too exciting and I went to my first class ten years ago. And I practiced and practiced and practiced and practiced and kept getting results and I was very skeptical when I started.

But when I started having incredible results with my clients, and helped them feel empowered because they were using something within themselves, rather than another tool outside of themselves, and they didn't have to go to somebody outside of themselves, that just really sold me.

And I say to people, 'I wouldn't still be doing it ten years later, if I wasn't having shocking results.' I'm a very impatient and very skeptical person. So, if you're going to sell me something, it better knock my socks off right away.

And it was just really ground breaking for me, for my practice, for my clients and still is. In fact, it's growing because I get better at it every year, so I find the successes from it are even more exciting.

Kevin: So, tell me, as a skeptical person, let's lay the ground work for this, tell me how you learn to accept this. I mean, what was the tipping point?

Carol: The tipping point was what my clients said to me. So they would say, 'I don't get it. I've never felt this way before. I don't get it. What are you helping me do here? I've never been calm about the situation. I don't understand, Carol. I didn't eat this week in the way that I used to eat when I'm anxious. And so they kept coming back to me and saying something different. What are you doing? What is this weird energy technique? And so that really helped my own skepticism. Even though I helped myself with things as well. You know, you always have to see outsiders give you feedback about something. Especially something so strange as EFT.

I mean, that's how I start the explanation. I tell people, 'It looks weird, it sounds weird, and it's going to be uncomfortable to watch it, or do it on yourself.' It's just bizarre. But, if someone thinks it's bizarre and then they get a fantastic result, the bizarre goes out the window. Nobody cares anymore.

And I say to people, 'Look, I am so conservative as a traditionally trained psychotherapist. If I'm still doing this thing, if I'm still working with this, you've got to know it works.

Kevin: Yeah. So, let's talk about EFT. I mean, if you can give us maybe, 2-3 minutes on what it is and the whole principles behind it.

Carol: Okay. Emotional Freedom Techniques, EFT. What we're doing is tapping on places on the face and the body, in the same place that a traditional Chinese medicine acupuncturist would put needles, okay?

So all of your listeners who have been to an acupuncturist before, they know that they put the needles in the face and the body and the legs. What we're doing is tapping on those same places. And why would we tap there?

We're tapping on the end points of the meridian because we're cleaning out the congestion. Again, if you read a lot about traditional Chinese medicine, they talk about congestion in your meridian system. What are meridians? Meridians are channels, circuitry of energy and electricity that go through our body.

Kevin: Um hmm.

Carol: So, we have all these circuits and all these highways really going through our body that connect our organs and everything inside of us. And the meridians are these lines of electricity, basically. And what we're doing is tapping on them as we're focused on the problem. And that seems to neutralize, or metabolize, or just really collapse the problem. Because our problem, whether it's a craving, or a fear of success, or pain, our problems are energetically based, right?

Kevin: Okay.

Carol: Even though someone says, 'Oh, well, it's just a flu bug.' Uh huh. It is the flu bug, but how did you get the flu bug? You had to be energetically prepared and ready and susceptible to it.

Kevin: Okay.

Carol: You and I could go through three airports on a trip, and you would get the flu and I wouldn't. Why is that? Because for some reason, something; you know, I tell people I ride the subways all day. I ride the subways in New York and I have clients come in and they're sick. I don't get the cold until I'm energetically available to it.

So our problems; now cravings. Not everybody has cravings for cigarettes. Why do some people have it? Because there's a problem, there's a disruption in their energy system. Maybe you had the same car accident that I had. Maybe ten other people we know had the same car accident. We don't all respond the same way, because it's our energy and our vibration that effects everything.

Kevin: Right.

Carol: So, it doesn't matter what your symptom is, the energy; you know, we have our body's, we have the bones and the vascular system and our skin and our breathing apparatus, and then, what's behind all of that? Energy. Things come through our energy first. So if you're phobic of driving over bridges and I'm not, well, what's the difference? The difference is us. It's not the bridge. Same bridge. Same bridge, same town.

Kevin: Right.

Carol: So what we like to say to people is it is acupuncture without the needles. Or, psychological acupuncture. So you have to be focused on the issue. You have to be in the energy field. You have to be in that head of it, of the problem. And then while you're there, while you've called up the file, you tap and say words, so that your brain can reprocess what the problem is and what you've been working with.

That's why, you know, some people will say, 'Carol, how can you use this for attracting abundance and for pain control and for stopping chocolate cravings?' Because it's the same thing that we're getting, we're getting to the bottom line. We're getting to the foundation of all our issues. And the foundation is a disruption in the energy system.

Kevin: So you're saying that the ancient Chinese medicine has talked about congestion in the meridian channels for a long period of time. Now these are some of things, that you just mentioned, are some of the things that are manifested from that. What are some of the other things that come about from this 'congestion'?

Carol: Well, it could be low energy. It could be the Chinese Master that I see now, downtown in New York, he's written several books on breast cancer.

Kevin: Okay.

Carol: And so, cancers, diseases, susceptibility to diseases, pain, cravings, anxiety, the incredible incidence of anxiety in our society, it's really, really high. I don't think it used be that high 100 years ago.

Kevin: Okay.

Carol: So, you know, these disruptions, what happens, these disruptions happen in our body, at this energetic, electrical level. You know, if you don't have electricity in your body, if they can't hook you up to an EKG or an ECG, you know, you're dead, right?

We are full of electricity and energy. And what happens is it gets, basically the wiring gets a little faulty, you know?

Kevin: Uh huh. Uh huh.

Carol: Depending on what you've been exposed to. What the subconscious communication in your family is. What the pollutions are. How you eat. How you think. How you're taught. Basically, our wiring needs retuning and I love using that phrase for people. We can rewire the brain.

Those are current theories right now about the plasticity of our brain and how we're able to really neutralize traumas. I mean, really incredible traumas that have happened for people. And many times, what are people doing when they overeat, over drink, over, you know, look at the computer. What are they doing? They're trying to numb their feelings.

Kevin: Okay.

Carol: Well, where do the feelings come from? The feelings come from high anxiety, or childhood abuse, or some kind of trauma, as I said. You know, a car accident, or witnessing something painful, or having a loss, grief.

So there are many things that we bump into as humans that need to be cleared in our system. We can't just walk away and say, 'Oop. No problem. That didn't bother me. That car accident, no problem.' We can't walk away that way. It gets lodged in ourselves and every cell in our body.

Kevin: Hmm.

Carol: So, we're using this tapping technique. A lot of people call it the 'tapping technique instead of EFT. We're using the tapping to rewire and neutralize and normalize your reaction.

Kevin: Now, the old story is to change some of these things that you're mentioning, anxieties and all of this, is to spend a lot of time
with them. Now, EFT deals with things very efficiently, in most cases.

A lot of people could probably say that that is kind of strange. They
might not believe that. What do you have to say for both practices, in terms of, the old way to look at this and now EFT as maybe skipping over some of that?

Carol: Well, the old way, traditional psychotherapy is about insight and talking and reworking the trauma. And sometimes, it still works, right?

Kevin: Yeah.

Carol: I still have people coming to me for regular psychotherapy. And they don't want to do any of the alternative methods. And frankly, we're quite used to spending a long time discussing and talking about our problems.

EFT gets, cuts so quickly to the chase. Because we're going to the energy, we're going to the problem.

Kevin: Okay.

Carol: We're going right to the heart of it with the tapping and the wording and the focus and the intention and attention that I have seen problems that are supposedly 'longstanding' disappear quite quickly. And I mean disappear. One of my famous stories, I just tell it all the time, because I love it, is doorman, who had migraines for 25 years.

Kevin: Wow.

Carol: He hasn't had one in six years because of the tapping.

Kevin: Really?

Carol: Migraines that made him lie down, go to bed, the doormen would say, 'Oh, God! That's Angel, he's in bed again because of his migraines.' The made fun of him. Now they make fun of him because sometimes he taps.

(Both laugh) But this, 25 years of migraines are gone? How do you make sense of that?

Kevin: Yeah.

Carol: How do you make sense of these people losing weight for the first time? They've done 47 diets. It's not that they've lost weight for the first time, but they've kept it off for the first time.

Kevin: So, I love to give takeaways for people. What can someone take away from this call? What's a process that someone can do? Or, what is a way that someone can get their mind geared up to actually start practicing some of this?

Carol: Okay. Well, let's talk about abundance and success. As everybody wants some form of it. So again, whether it's with relationships, or their health and their body, or financially, everybody wants to be more successful than they are in some area.


Kevin: Sure.

Carol: What I like to tell people is that abundance is a feeling, it's not a dollar amount in your bank account.

So if there's one thing you do, you want to change how you feel. Which is your vibration, right? So what you can do is focus on gratitude and what you feel grateful or appreciative of. And while you do that, you can tap. So you don't just have to tap on the problem, you can tap on positive things, positive feelings, as you tap.

Kevin: Okay, so you can tap on a feeling that you have.

Carol: Yes. So you could go through the tapping. I mean, the better way to do it is to identify the issue, tap on that, neutralize it, and then go to the positive.

Kevin: Okay.

Carol: But you could just tap; so I do a daily gratitude list. I'm grateful for this. I appreciate this. I'm so thankful for this. And if you do that while you're tapping, you're clearing out remaining issues and conflicts about being grateful and being successful and being happy.

Kevin: Okay.

Carol: So it's a wonderful combination. So everyone in law of attraction is talking about the gratitude list. And I have that in my book. And the gratitude walk. Well, why don't you combine that with tapping.

Kevin: Okay.

Carol: So remember, abundance is a vibration and a feeling and you can change your life by changing your feelings. You don't have to do something, people are like, 'Oh, I have to change my resume. Oh, I have to buy a new marketing plan.' No, you don't. You need to change your vibration. And once people get that, that it's about vibration, they're on their way.

I have seen people make profound changes in a very short period of time, once they understand that youth and improving your immune system and health and vitality and energy is about your vibration. Not about what family you came from. Not about the physical limitations you think you have. It's about your vibration. And once people put that together, the light that comes through them; I mean, they get so excited, they really feel invincible.

Kevin: Right. Which is not a bad thing.

Carol: Not a bad thing. Because when you feel invincible; I'm not talking about a 16 year old who feels invincible and drives too fast on the highway.

I'm talking about feeling in love with life. Being excited. Feeling happy and then you're friendlier to your neighbors. And you're nice in the grocery store. And you don't cut people off when you're driving. And you just, you feel more forgiving of yourself and of others. That feeling, is contagious. And it's contagious to yourself.

Kevin: Yeah. I think everyone, who's listening to this call, has probably felt that feeling. I mean, think about it. You know? That's a fantastic way to live. And you're saying this is possible all the time.

Carol: This is possible all the time. Now, we have many things that get in the way. But I try to start my day with a gratitude list. I end, or in the late afternoon, I do my Chi Gong. Which is a way to be peaceful and quiet and kind of close the door on the day, the workday. Right? So things get in the way because we live in this world, and we do go to work, and we have our lives.

But, you could hold on to that abundant feeling. That grateful, loving, exciting, happy feeling, by your focus. So change your focus. How? You write a gratitude list. You do EFT and feel better. You write a list of what you're happy about. You call someone who cares about you. You don't keep calling the ex who dumped you. There are many, many ways to stay focused in the present, in a way that's really helpful and just expansive for you.

Kevin: There are times when people, when they go to pick up the phone to call that ex, right? There's a moment of decision that goes on. Or when someone has a piece of cakes, and they have the fork and they're about to slice into it. Or there's different parts of different experiences where there's that moment. What do you recommend that someone do at that moment?

Carol: Well, first of all, before those moments come, if you do EFT regularly, it'll help you have less of those moments. Because I say to people, if you wait, until you're in the car, driving to Dunkin' Doughnuts, before you do your tapping, you're not going to do it, because you're on your way to the doughnut.

Kevin: Right.

Carol: So do it ahead of time. Do it three times a day for the stress relief that you need. So that you stop using food as a way to calm yourself down, okay?

Kevin: Right.

Carol: If it's in the moment, you reach up and start tapping.

Kevin: Okay.

Carol: And figure out what are you doing? Why are you calling the person who hurt you so badly? What are you looking for? Ask yourself the questions. Now what happens is, people are often times impulsive, so they don't wait. They don't want to ask themselves the questions. They say, 'No, I've got to talk to him about this.

Kevin: Right.

Carol: They really on some level, the relief that comes with eating the piece of cake, just feels so immediate, that's what they want.

Kevin: Right.

Carol: They forget what their goal is. They forget they're working out in a program with you. They forget that they want to be thin. And it's just very easy to pick up the substance that's not good for us. It's very easy to do. But not when you calm your overall body down. Not when you're using the energy of your body, the energy system and the meridians and you're calming down and feeling more relaxed about yourself. When you're relaxed, big stressors don't have the same impact. When you're uptight and upset and stressed out and you haven't slept well, you know how it is. It's the little things that put you over the edge.

Kevin: Oh, yeah. It's almost exponential.

Carol: Exactly. So, I'm talking about a long term, as well as a short term program. This is about your life. You know, in ten years, I still want to feel like I have access to the fountain of youth. Not just today.

You know, this is about our full lives. May we live as fully as we need to and deserve to, in our however many years we're supposed to be here.

Kevin: Yeah. I think everyone's entitled to that. Wow. This is just awesome stuff. Well, we are wrapping up now. Is there anything else you would like to add to the listeners out there? Any thing in particular that might come to mind?

Carol: I'd like to remind them that they are powerful, but they are brilliant. They know so much about what works for them and what doesn't. They are so smart and they deserve to accept themselves. It's really, really powerful work. That is not some corny self help statement.

It is incredibly powerful. What I have seen happen, when someone says, 'Okay, even though I have this conflict about success, even though I'm afraid to be the top person in my company, even though I'm afraid to reach my goal weight.' When they say, 'But I accept myself anyway.' And just stop beating up on themselves, miracles happen. It's so exciting.

So, just remember that you are lovable, you are good enough, you know, you're worth accepting. And remember that you have available to you, each of us has available to each of us, this incredible tool that's about our inside. It's about the electricity and the energy inside of us. And once you have your thoughts, and your body and your mind in alignment, there's no stopping you.

Someone said that to me the other day, 'Carol, it seems like you are so happy. You are so connected to yourself, that you know, somebody can criticize you and it doesn't affect you.' It's like, 'Why would I let that effect me?' Someone who doesn't know me says something nasty? I am living an integrity in my life, with my relationships. You know, I was here at 9/11, I was in New York City. And all these clients came to me and said, 'Well, I want to change my marriage and change my home, and I'm going to leave New York and change my job.' And everybody took a good look at their lives and said, with that kind of a crisis, where am I and how am I doing?

And I make myself check in. How am I doing? Do I appreciate how I'm living my life? Am I treating my people in my life, my friends and family members, with integrity and with love? Am I taking care of myself? Am I putting first what needs to be first as far as priorities? And it's just wonderful to check in and then there's no stopping you. Because it's about your integrity and you're not measuring yourself against someone else's judgment.

Kevin: Hmm.

Carol: If you, Kevin, are living in your integrity and enjoying your life and doing the best that you can, that's the best. There's no stopping you.
